Inside Dispatch Procedure HERE Sound/Commmunication Dispatch Procedure HERE . Please Read: The dispatch office has been closed since 2020. We have temporarily converted to a remote/online dispatch service. Please review all processes below to complete your request. The following will address processes for services with the Dispatch office: . 1. Sign In: Click Here to complete the out of work list form: (incomplete forms will be void) New applicants who have never signed the out of work list before: Must fill out the online sign in form and enter submit button, then email the dispatcher with an image copy of a current dues receipt, an image copy of your current stamped travel letter, and print and send back a completed authorization form. These documents are not required for Local 6 members. Please send all required documents to the dispatcher at dispatcher@ibew6.org.
All applicants on the out of work list, if interested in going to work, must fill out an “Online JOB BID form” (In the Dispatch Short Cuts Box) daily before the start of Roll Call the next day. The Online JOB BID Form is valid from 4:30pm after the "out of work list" is updated until 7am day of Roll Call. If you are interested in being called for a job, fill out this form between the stated hours. The Dispatcher will process those requests between 7am-8am and start calling the lowest number on the books at 8am sharp. If there are problems, please call the main office number 415-861-5752 after 7:30am and leave a voicemail with the Dispatcher prior to Roll Call. 2. Manpower Requests: Employers are to fill out the Manpower Request form HERE and submit it to the dispatcher by 2pm (Monday through Friday).
Please be aware that all calls received by the 2pm deadline Monday through Friday, will be announced online overnight and assigned electronically the next day during 8am roll call. All applicants will show up onsite the next day after roll call at the stated start time. Example: 2 JW on Monday May 18, 2020: A request is put online Thursday May 14, 2020, Friday May 15, 2020, roll call at 8am dispatches new hires for a 7am start on Monday May 18, 2020. Foreman callouts are next day show up. . 3. Monthly Resign: will be through the new online form (Monthly Re-Sign Form), fax, email, or postal service as outlined in the dispatch procedure for April 2020, please use the online form here. Resign Form is active every month between midnight of the 10th through 5pm on the 16th. Resign requests sent to any other email other than re-sign@ibew6.org will be rejected . 4. Roll Call: will be performed via phone/email dispatch. Starting at 8am, the dispatcher will start calling book I, II, III, IV in numerical order. When the call is filled, a dispatch will be emailed to the accepting applicant(s) upon them answering up, over the phone number provided on the Online Bid Form, and they will report the next day according to the call request. Job Calls (if requested) will come in and be posted on the secure website (Member Home Page) by 3pm Monday through Friday. You MUST register for access to the website to see job calls and out of work lists. To verify that roll call is done and completed, please review on the Member Home Page, the Roll Call Outcome section. If the date has been changed to the current date and the outcome info has been uploaded, roll call is over. If the date under the roll call outcome section is yesterday's date, then roll call is still ongoing and not completed. IBEW Local 6 Hiring Hall Change to Inside Wiremen Dispatch Procedures Effective August 1, 2022: Due to staffing shortages and abnormally long delays at the CA Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), IBEW Local 6 will suspend the requirement to demonstrate compliance with the DIR’s Electrician Certification Program for journey-level Inside Wiremen job calls until further notice. Compliance shall continue to be verified before processing a dispatch for the following calls:
This change will not change the requirement of compliance with the DIR’s Electrician Certification Program for Employees working on portability in the jurisdiction of IBEW Local 6. HIRING HALL UPDATE *THREE STRIKES STARTED ON MONDAY APRIL 18, 2022* THE STRIKES WILL BE LISTED AFTER THE SIGN IN DATE ON THE OUT OF WORK LIST . Make sure your phone contact info is current. If needed, send updates to the dispatcher. The outcome of any roll call will be posted as usual after roll call.
